Fists fly in Bengal House over Birbhum killings

Birbhum’s murder last week triggered turmoil scenes in the West Bengal Assembly on Monday with MLA from BJP opposition and ruled TMC Trading Blowows, which led to the suspension of five BJP legislators, including opposition leader Suvendhu Adhikari and the Head of BJP Whip Manoj Tigga.

The action taken by the speaker on Monday marked the second suspension set for BJP in this session. Two other MLA parties, Sudip Mukherjee and Mihir Goswami, were suspended for the entire session on March 7 to disrupt the address of Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.

 

Incidentally, in January this year, the Supreme Court has set aside a one-year suspension of 12 BJP MLAS opposition from Maharashtra Assembly. The court said that the suspension outside the ongoing session was a violation of the values ​​of basic democracy because it meant that the constituency selected as a member would remain not realized at home.

 

On Monday, a few minutes after the West Bengal Assembly began at 11 am, BJP MLAS began to protest hard because of the incident of Birbhum and demanded the resignation of Banerjee, who also held a home portfolio. After about half an hour, some TMC MLA, also reached a well and was immediately involved in a fight with opposition members.

Even MLAS women, including Chandana Bauri, were attacked, he said. MLA Bauri claimed that “TMC Mlaas began kicking and defeating us, and I was injured behind and in my neck and hand”.

 

Posting the intended incident clip, which shows MLAs for each other, BJP State Unit Tweeted that “Destructive totalitarianism is happening in the Assembly”.

BJP said that Mlaas Tigga, Baauri, Mahato, Sikha Chatterjee, Ajay Poddar and Lakshan Bauri were hospitalized. Adhikari then went to Raj Bhavan with another suspended MLA and complained to Jagdeep Governor Dhankhar about the assembly incident. He also went to see BJP Mla who was injured in the hospital.
