WASHINGTON: A senior Biden Administrative official on Wednesday told reporters that the United States believes Russian claims pulling troops from the border with Ukraine is “wrong.
“So yesterday, the Russian government said that it attracted troops from the border with Ukraine. They received a lot of attention to the claim, both here and throughout the world. But now we know it’s wrong,” the official said. The official did not offer details or provided proof how it knew it.
The official, who spoke with the terms of anonymously, said the Biden government has confirmed that “Russia has increased the presence of its troops along the Ukrainian border of 7,000 troops,” with many of them arrived recently Wednesday.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday his troops pulled back after training near Ukraine, and published a video he said he said the power to leave the Crimean Peninsula.
But US Secretary Antony Blinken said in an interview at MSNBC on Wednesday that “critical units” moved towards the border.
